Blood knot

The fly fisher’s join for two similar diameters. Straight and discreet in the water.

Tying it

1. 1

   Step 1: Cross the two lines, leaving 15 cm on each side.

   Step 2: Wrap the first line five times around the second, then pass it through the centre.

3. 3

   Step 3: Do the same with the second, passing through the centre the OTHER way.

4. 4

   Step 4: Wet, pull on both standing lines and trim.

Always wet a knot before tightening it: dry friction burns the line and costs a good part of its strength.
