Improved clinch knot

The classic for monofilament on a swivel or hook. Quick to tie, even with cold hands.

Tying it

1. 1

   Step 1: Pass the line through the eye and make five turns around the standing line.

2. 2

   Step 2: Pass the tag end through the small loop just above the eye.

3. 3

   Step 3: Then pass it back through the large loop you just formed.

4. 4

   Step 4: Wet, pull on the standing line and trim.

Always wet a knot before tightening it: dry friction burns the line and costs a good part of its strength.
