Trilene knot

A clinch that runs double through the eye — twice the bearing surface, less chafing.

Tying it

1. 1

   Step 1: Pass the line through the eye TWICE, leaving a small loop.

2. 2

   Step 2: Make five turns around the standing line.

3. 3

   Step 3: Pass the tag end back through the double loop at the eye.

4. 4

   Step 4: Wet, tighten and trim.

Always wet a knot before tightening it: dry friction burns the line and costs a good part of its strength.
