The grass pickerel or redfin pickerel (Esox americanus) is one of the smallest members of the Esocidae family in North America, identifiable by its dark horizontal or oblique flank bands and relatively short snout. It inhabits shallow, heavily vegetated freshwaters along the eastern and central parts of the continent.
