Other species

A catalog has to draw lines, and some of those lines are arbitrary. The eleven categories answer the angler’s question — where and how is this fish caught — rather than the biologist’s classification. A handful of species cannot be sorted by those criteria without straining them, and they land here.

That does not make them minor. Among them are fish remarkable for their shape, their habitat or their behaviour, whose only shared trait is not sharing a method with an existing group.

The best use of this page is discovery rather than planning a session. Each entry answers individually the questions the category cannot settle for everyone at once.
